Cameroon is officially called the Republic of Cameroon. It is both geographical and culturally diverse, with 200 different linguistic groups. The country is often referred to as “Africa in miniature”. Cameroon was previously a German colony, and then was controlled by France and Britain after WWI. Cameroon became its current form in 1984.
Cameroon has an area of 475,442 sq km, a population of 22.5 million, and a low HDI of 0.500.
