Belgium is officially called the Kingdom of Belgium. Its population is about 60% Dutch-speaking, and 39% French-speaking. The region was historically a part of the Roman Empire. Belgiumg was also conquered by Austria, France, and the Netherlands in history. The Belgian Revolution was in 1830.

Belgium has an area of 30,528 sq km, a population of 11 million, and a very high HDI of 0.897.

Gerardus Mercator was a Belgian. Belgium is also the first country to legalize euthanasia without age limits.
